Trying new things: Illustration

Today I dug out some beautiful and unused Derwent pencils from my neglected art drawer. Since graduating in 2007 I haven’t really done any drawing (especially since discovering screenwriting) so it was quite daunting to approach the blank page.

I’ve been working on a story with a characterful version of my cat Monty as the star. Keen for a visual, I decided to have a go, and this is the result! What do you think?

Today I’m also trying a blogging app, so this (hopefully typo free) post is winging its way from my iPod. Here’s hoping the presentation is OK!

What new and creative activities have you tried recently? I have a set of Fimo (modelling clay) begging to be made into cats… But for now, I must concentrate on a feature I’m working out with a treatment!
