Overview Report is the brief one: 1-2 pages of concise comments about what’s working, and what isn’t, in your script. It’s a good option when you are already fairly happy with how things are going, are happy receiving less detailed notes or explanations, or are coming back to me for another report after having already had a Development or Comprehensive Report. This service if for scripts up to 120 pages. If your script is longer than that, then another £1 per page is added (a good incentive to cut it down!)

Development Report is the one that concentrates on ways of improving and developing your story, structure and style. It’s usually around 5 pages long, but could be shorter or longer depending on the script! It begins with a brief look at the strengths and potential weaknesses, and then goes into more detail about those weaknesses and explores ways of overcoming them. This service if for scripts up to 120 pages. If your script is longer than that, then another £1 per page is added (a good incentive to cut it down!)

Comprehensive Report is a great one for first drafts. It’s about the same length as a development report, but it covers all aspects of a script, such as presentation, style, genre, theme, plot, pace, characters, structure and dialogue. I assess your script and its content, but also help with some suggestions for improvement. This service if for scripts up to 120 pages. If your script is longer than that, then another £1 per page is added (a good incentive to cut it down!)

Short Script Report is for scripts of 30 pages or fewer. It’s pretty much the same as an Overview Report, except it’s cheaper to reflect the shorter script!

Treatment Report is where I take a look at your treatment and let you know what’s working and what might cause problems. It’s really handy to get feedback at treatment stage, before you expend all that energy on the script itself! Treatments vary in length – hence the “from £15” price label. Often, with longer treatments, the report ends up being a bit like a Development Report.

Logline and Synopsis Feedback is £10, or just £5 if you book it along with any of the other reports! I take a look at your logline and give suggestions for improvement. Naturally, reading the synopsis helps me to do this, so it makes sense for me to give some feedback on that too. Your document should be no longer than a page – any longer and you probably don’t have a concise synopsis!

Novel Overview Report is the one where I read your novel and then write a report for you, outlining what’s working and what isn’t.

Novel Development Report is where I read your novel and then make an overall assessment of it, including what’s working and what isn’t. Furthermore, I write you chapter-by-chapter notes, which also includes brief comments about improving style.

Script Proofreading is where I use the PDF Highlight and Comment functions to correct any spelling errors or typos, as well as letting you know about any glaring presentation or grammar issues. Price is based on script length – £10 for up to 20 pages, £20 for up to 60 pages, and £30 for up to 110 pages. If your script is longer than that, then another £1 per page is added (a good incentive to cut it down!)

Script Copy-Editing (“style mentoring”) is where I use the PDF Highlight and Comment functions to not only proofread, but also to give page-by-page notes on how to improve your written style. Price is based on script length – £20 for up to 20 pages, £45 for up to 60 pages, and £70 for up to 110 pages. If your script is longer than that, then another £1 per page is added (a good incentive to cut it down!)
