It’s the first of April and the #aprilwordsaday challenge has kicked off!



My first entry for day one’s prompt “the first time” was a six-word story:

Tentatively, baby soft soles pad along”



Peter Paega (@PeterPaega) has kicked off his challenge with a short story about beach delights and Tyler Loiselle (@TooLateToBlink) has penned a reflective piece about the possession of memories.

About #aprilwordsaday

#aprilwordsaday is a challenge for writers of all disciplines with the aim of flexing those creative muscles and providing inspiration.

The rules are simple:

Each day, take the prompt and allow your thoughts to “brainstorm” all associations and memories you have connected with it, or even new ideas or thoughts that arise from it. Use these thoughts to get creative with written words!

You may have a preferred discipline such as screenwriting, prose writing or poetry. You can stick to a discipline each day or try a variety. You could write:

    Can't remember if I commented already or not, so, at the risk of repeating myself, I think taking time to notice something and write about it each day is such good practice – highly recommend it – but I'm personally very rubbish at blogging my snippets! Well done to all who manage this!
